From the revolting to the surprising, Korean food has it's challenges. Strangely though, the Koreans love SPAM. During the Korean war,
US soldiers introduced SPAM and it ended up becoming a countrywide favourite.
However, the Koreans also love offal, octopus (dead or alive), and a number of other unidentifiable things.
There are some good things. Bibimbap (really) is a sort of hot stone pot filled with rice and other goodies, although it can be spicy.
And the national dish is of course Kimchi, a sort of spicy pickled cabbage dish, recently thought to help the body fight bird flu !!
Also, I had octopus pancakes a couple of times, and they were delicious.
But the best thing.....there's no tipping in the restaurants.
